Remember the book club I told you about last month?
Well... we had our first meeting, and though the turn-out was light, we had a great time discussing "Nothing Serious" and nibbling Linnaea's treats. Ok, ok, not everyone loved the book, but it was so fun to get together and hear others' take on a story that I've enjoyed for a really long time. Honestly, I wasn't sure what to expect with this book club- but it's wonderful! Like, sharing an old secret with friends and realizing that they've got the same one. Book nerds unite! I'm happy to announce that we're persevering with the club and have voted on our second book...
Book no.2 is "How To Be A Woman", the hilariously candid memoir by Caitlin Moran.
And yes, it is in stock at Barnes & Noble. Alternatively, you can find it here on Amazon- or the audio version here, read by the author herself.
***WARNING*** this book does contain some explicit material, so if you're a bit sensitive to that - you might want to skip this one. Actually, when we were discussing prospective books, nominating favorites around the table, and tossing around ideas for our second read- Leah suggested this one and she made a point of letting us know that it was a bit "racy"... And you know what? Suddenly the discussion became a unanimous declaration. Oh dear... What does that say about us?
ANYWAAAY... I'm so excited to see you bookies again soon to hear all about your take on this funny and endearing memoir. And for those of you who didn't make it to the last meeting, I hope you'll join us on:
Tuesday, October 30th at 6:30pm. We'll be in the back garden at Linnaea's cafe.
HAPPY READING! ♥
hahahaha!!! It's true- I barely had the warning out of my mouth before there were cries of "Yes!"
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see everyone and discuss it!! :)
